The goal of the Preston Road Church of Christ leadership is to see our members grow in their faith and become more like Christ. While the following five items are not an exhaustive list, the Preston Road elders do call our members to strive toward these things as we feel that members who commit to these will certainly grow in their understanding of who God is and what He desires of them on their faith journey. These are NOT what we ask Christians to do in order to become members; however, these are our recommendations for our members to become more Christlike.
- Tell: Commit to telling others the story of what God has done and is doing in your life. (Matt. 28:19-20; Romans 1:16)
- Join: Commit to attending weekly worship services at Preston Road and finding community there by getting involved in a Bible Class or small group. (Hebrews 10:24-25; Romans 15:4; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Galatians 6:2; Romans 1:11-12)
- Practice: Commit to practicing a variety of spiritual disciplines and exercises to train yourself for godliness. (I Tim. 4:7-8; I Thess. 5:17; Matt 6:16)
- Serve: Commit to serving for the Kingdom’s sake (in a ministry at Preston Road, one of the Preston Road partner ministries, a mission trip experience or some other Christ-centered, Kingdom-minded ministry). (Matt. 25:35; I John 3:17-18; John 15:13; James 2:14)
- Give: Commit to supporting Preston Road financially. (2 Cor. 9:7-11; I Tim. 6:17-19; Luke 6:38)
