Home Teams are extensions of the Preston Road Church of Christ designed to facilitate fellowship, spiritual transformation, deeper relationships, and personal accountability. Any one, at any time, can join a Home Team.
Home Teams
Our traditional small group program will also be a great venue for talking through The Story together. In these Home Teams, groups of 6-15 get together to talk through The Story Home Team/Story Group Studies. Home Teams meet casually in the homes of members, and allow groups and families to gather in community to be together, pray together, and process God’s Word together. The Story Home Team/Story Group Studies are available for each of the 31 weeks of our journey here. These Home Teams generally form out of Bible Classes or a particular demographic of the church.
Story Groups
Looking for the easiest way to talk through The Story with others? Try joining, or forming, a simple Story Group. A Story Group occurs anytime and anywhere 3-5 people get together to talk through The Story Home Team/Story Group Studies together. The groups work best when friends, neighbors or Sunday Bible Class members of the same gender gather rather informally around coffee, breakfast or lunch. The group works through the questions over the course of 50 minutes, and then proceeds with other duties again. The groups can meet any day of the week, and any time of the day when 3-5 folks decide to meet. (The Commons at PRCC is designed with such groups in mind!)
The differences between a Story Group and a Home Team:
† Story Groups form spontaneously out of Bible Classes or other PRCC group settings. You are the coordinator.
† Story Groups occur in any public meeting area and do not require a sponsoring house in which to meet.
† Story Groups can occur while children are in school, so no childcare or children’s programming is required.
† Story Groups allow husbands and wives to each have a meaningful small group time without trying to coordinate doing it together or around kids.
† A family may chose to be a Story Group together as they work through the questions in the home each week.
How to Start or Join a Group?
Pray about it. Ask the Lord to lead you to the right place at PRCC.
Watch for others who God might be preparing to join you in a group.
Look for Story Groups and Home Teams on the Story Board in your adult classroom.
Pick a partner to co-lead with you. Jesus always sent out his disciples in pairs and you will need a partner.
Start a Story Group or Home Team. Post the time and nature of your group on the Story Board in your adult classroom.
Invite others to join you in your journey through The Story.
If you are a children’s volunteer or are currently not attending an adult bible class, please contact Farland Clark at 214.526.7221 ext 226 or
